Key Responsibilities

Deliver day-to-day care, supervision, and support to service users in residential or community settings.

Develop and implement person-centred care plans in line with HIQA and Tusla standards.

Support service users in education, employment, independent living, and personal development.

Advocate for service users’ rights, ensuring their voice is respected in decision-making.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and care documentation.

Administer medication and follow health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.

Collaborate with families, external agencies, and multidisciplinary professionals.

Manage challenging behaviours using approved therapeutic interventions (e.g., MAPA/CPI).

Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.

Qualifications & Experience

CORU registration as a Social Care Worker is mandatory.

Minimum of a Level 7/8 degree in Social Care (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).

Previous experience in social care, residential, disability, or youth settings is desirable.

Knowledge of relevant legislation: Child Care Act, Children First Guidelines, HIQA/Tusla standards.

Full clean manual driving licence (preferred).

Training in First Aid, Safeguarding, MAPA/CPI, and Children’s First (advantageous).
