Job Title: Registered Midwife
Location: Hospitals and Maternity Units across Ireland
Employment Type: Temporary / Part-time / Agency

Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Midwives to support antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care in hospital and community settings across Ireland. The ideal candidate will be NMBI-registered and committed to providing high-quality, safe, and family-centred maternity care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide holistic, woman-centred care throughout the antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal stages.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being, including CTGs and vital signs.
• Support natural births and assist with interventions when medically necessary.
• Administer medications and manage pain relief, including epidurals and emergency care.
• Provide breastfeeding support and education on newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed maternity records in line with NMBI and hospital standards.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and follow escalation procedures.
• Ensure a respectful, safe, and culturally sensitive birthing experience.

Requirements:
• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a Registered Midwife.
• 6–12 months recent clinical experience in midwifery (antenatal, labour ward, or postnatal).
• Strong clinical decision-making and emergency response skills.

Up-to-date training and certifications:
• Manual Handling & Patient Moving Techniques
• Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP)
• BLS/CPR Certification
• Infection Control and Safeguarding
• Garda Vetting clearance.
• Right to work in Ireland (Stamp 1G, Stamp 4, or EU/EEA passport).

Desirable:
• Experience in high-risk maternity units or with home births.
• PMAV/CPI training.
• Familiarity with Irish hospital maternity documentation systems.
